What is the etiquette for moving / deleting images

I am likely to reorganise my smugmug galleries over the next couple of weeks resulting in fewer images in fewer galleries. I'm really trying to make sure what's there is at least decent and interesting. The problem is, I have several images on dgrin that will be moved, put in hidden galleries or deleted.

What's the etiquette to maintain links to things I've posted here? (e.g. the photo association thread). I'd rather not have a bunch of dead links once I've re-orged.

Hidden galleries are fine as long as external links are enabled. Instead of deleting, just move them to a hidden gallery. I make copies of everything I post on Dgrin and move them to a hidden gallery before I post, which makes it a no-brainer when it is time to reorganize.
