I google from time to time to see where my site shows up, and it is consistently within the top 5, which is good. However, today, instead of listing my site name, it listed this:

any reason why the title in search results all of a sudden changed to smug mug? I haven't change anything in my customization with regards to the title in quite some time.
Thanks

I wish I could tell you why, but Google keeps a lot of secrets.

Oh please. It's because smugmug puts "<title>SmugMug Photo Sharing. Your photos look better here.</title>" on our pages. We want the ability to change that, preferably without having to have the same title on every page.

FYI, on my nickname.smugmug.com page, I have "<title>Dave's photos- powered by SmugMug</title>"

Still not what I want, but better than an ad for smugmug.

FYI: this changed for me when I removed the page title from my customization, as recommended to get different titles on each page. This bug was noted in that thread... the big search engine optimization thread, if I remember correctly.
