Hello,
I am new to Dgrin, at least in the realm of posting, I have been here for a little while(lurking), but frequent a different photography forum primarily. I am not new to photography, so any critiques you have I can handle. Anyway, I currently reside in Connecticut, due to my job in the US Navy. I do a lot of my shooting in Rhode Island due to better beaches and shorelines. So I'll post some recents.
#1. Newton Rocks, Narragansett, Rhode Island
Pentax K10D, SMC-DA* 16-50mm, f/2.8, 3-stop ND solid, 3-stop GND filter, tripod, cable release.
136sec, F/9, ISO 100, 16mm, Bulb exposure mode.
#2. Newton Rocks, Narragansett, Rhode Island.
Pentax K10D, SMC-DA* 16-50mm F/2.8 lens, Tripod, 3-stop GND filter, 128sec, F/11, ISO100, 16mm. Desaturated in Photoshop CS4, adjusted for contrast and exposure.
#3. Watch Hill Lighthouse, Watch Hill, Rhode Island.
Pentax K10D, Tripod, SMC-DA* 16-50mm f/2.8 lens, ND .6 grad, C-PL, 0.60s at F/11, ISO100.
#4. Coming Storm. Watch Hill Lighthouse, Watch Hill, Rhode Island. Pentax K10D, Tripod, SMC-DA* 16-50mm f/2.8 lens, ND .6 grad, C-PL, 2.5s at F/13, ISO100.
Enjoy,
Andrew

Thank-You.
Great work and good to see these files not over cooked
Are you in the media for the Navy? I sailed on the USS Ronald Reagan down to San Diego and worked with the photography staff on board. It looked like a wonderful program, good training in a rather unusual atmosphere.

No, actually I am a Submarine Sonar Technician. I currently am an instructor at Naval Submarine School in Groton, CT, although I hold a collateral duty as the Command Photog. Thanks for the compliments Marc, that means a lot coming from you. I have thought about doing a rate change to Mass Communication Specialist (Navy Photogs), but I have to many years invested into the Sonar rating now.

This is certainly a beautiful collection of photos. I like the first and fourth the most. I look forward to seeing future work from you!

Yup, I like their stuff. I see you are "local" to me. Check out http://www.newschoolofphotography.com, its a "locally" owned photography forum, ran by a guy down in North Kingstown, RI. That in itself isn't that important, what is, is that we have been doing a Saturday sunrise meet thing almost every week, and I was thinking you might be interested, since we have a few people from up there (Mass) that have come down for the meets we have been doing. Join if your interested in the site, and check the meets section on the forum. It's a good, small forum, with a decent community of people. Thanks for you comments also!

Oh I will. Thanks.
