Haha, nice use of "Bump." I've not seen that used on this forum before. Unfortunately from where you were, there is so much other stuff in the pic that takes away from the subject that is looks like nothing more than a snapshot taken from a fan sitting in the stands. You gotta find a way to get down close to the subject and minimize all of the other stuff in your pic. Keep em coming though.
agreed. And 70mm was way too short a focal length to use. Also, for a non-panninng shot, 1/320 is too slow of a shutter speed (and actually too fast for a panned shot).
So, to summarize:
1. Need to get a less-obstructed view
2. Need to fill the frame with your subject (and don't think you can frame loosely and crop later)
3. Need to use faster shutter speeds for non-panned shots.
Looking forward to the next Suzuki obstacross in Southern Ontario. I am in contact with an area ATV club and looks like I will be getting access to any of their events can make it to. That I am looking forward to.

I will fill the frame at the next race 5/23 and post the photos and see what you think.

We had a mud event here last weekend as well.
Here's a few I took.
These guys love their trucks, and I try to get "in your face" type pictures to express the feeling of power and pride.

I am trying to get access to a better location at the mud race but so far I am taking pictures from the seats.
Take Care,
Chuck
