Ordered one for the wife for Mothers Day and I am quite happy with the result. I will order these for clients in the future, no doubt! One suggestion I do have for the folks at MyCanvas, however, is to have some sort of safeguard that if text is not entered in a template, the book does not get printed with "Double click to enter text".

I think their books & posters look great, but they do seem to have some real glitches to work out. My poster was quite handsome, but the borders I added to it were not mitered at the corners, if you know what I mean. The vertical & horizontal borders overlapped and actually went straight to the edge on one or two corners, instead of neatly meeting one another as they should. I was too tired of trying to figure out stuff on that site to even bother mentioning it, especially since the poster was from the SmugMug promotional freebie period. But it seemed odd to me that one glance by quality control would not have caught something like that, as it's very obvious. Your book shouldn't have a page like that & get out the door of MyCanvas w/o someone taking notice. With such great printing quality otherwise, it just seems a little strange.

Yes, I am a little more than dismayed that MyCanvas does not have something in place that would recognize that the stock text did not change, and prevent the page from being printed. I am going to have to send them a note conisdering they have not respnded here. I thought they checked these forums. Guess not. ne_nau.gif

noeltykay, I just saw your post and want to get some more info on the stock text issue. I work at MyCanvas and you just encountered a bug that I need to fix, but I need your help to track it down. I need to know your project information, so if you would PM me your order number, I can take a look at your project and try and fix the bug. The problem is that the text is not tagged appropriately on one single template and in order to identify that template I need some info. This is something we do try to catch, unfortunatley, this one slipped through the cracks.

Hi WinsomeWorks, I noticed your reply to this post and I actually work on the frames/borders at MyCanvas. I would love to get a little more information about the specific issue you noticed so I can fix it. I'd be able to understand exactly what you're referring to if I was able to check out your poster myself. So, if you'd like to PM me your order number I can look up the project and see what issue you're seeing with the borders.

    poster in question
Hmm, I have no idea anymore of the order number. It was the only project I ever finished and actually ordered. Otherwise, I had started a book there but ran into too many things I didn't understand when making it. I'm registered under the same name, WinsomeWorks, I believe. The poster was a pretty large one, maybe 16 X 20 or more, and has two bright green frogs from the back. It had a lighter green border that looked sort of like a ribbon, maybe 1/4 inch from the edge. When I received the poster, it was otherwise terrific-looking... Perfect color, no grain, great paper, and caption was good. When I made the poster on the site, the border certainly appeared mitered. It just didn't come out that way. But my daughter loved it anyway, and it was probably a random thing. [This was in December of 2008, I think..]

Hey jmcanvas! Got an e-mail from Ray and just sent the information to him. Thanks for taking care of this issue, we really appreciate it, and look forward to ordering more products in the future from MyCanvas! clap.gifclap.gifclap.gif
