I have can get three Lenovo monitors at a good price because of a corporate deal and wonder if anyone knows how good they are for photo editing:
22": L2240p
24": L2440p
24": L2440x
I currently have an older 19" Lenovo x monitor, and it is reasonably good.
Thanks.
Dan

All three of these use a TN TFT LCD panel.
In terms of image quality for photo editing, these are the TFT LCD panel types from best to worst:
IPS (newer variants are S-IPS, AS-IPS, H-IPS, eIPS, etc)
PVA (newer variants are S-PVA)
MVA (newer variants are A-MVA, P-MVA, S-MVA, etc)
TN
If you would like some background on these panels, read this article:
http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/articles/panel_technologies.htm
You can also research the panel type at these links:

As I don't know how hot a deal it is that you are getting, use this monitor as a reference - the Dell 2209WA with it's eIPS panel, listed for $279USD or less.

It is a very popular budget monitor for image editing with a much better image than any of those three models you have listed.

Only the 22" is a TN display.
The other two are S-PVA.
Let's see....
TFT Central lists both as TN panels.
Flatpanels lists both as PVA panels
Ack!!! Interesting.... now my knickers are in a knot.
however....
Lenovo has this document claiming the L2440p panel is a TN.
http://shop.lenovo.com/ISS_Static/WW/EMEA/merchandising/pdf/en/L2440p.pdf
and for the L2440x... also a TN!
http://shop.lenovo.com/ISS_Static/WW/EMEA/merchandising/pdf/en/L2440x.pdf
and Prad.de has tested it and claim it is a TN

http://www.prad.de/en/monitore/review/2008/review-lenovo-l2440p-part7.html#Viewing
This site claims the L2440p is a TN panel and lists a 160 degree vertical viewing angle.
http://www.desktopreview.com/default.asp?newsID=681&Review=Lenovo+L2440p+LCD+monitor
http://compreviews.about.com/od/monitors/gr/LenovoL2240p.htm
but CNET lists it as a PVA or IPS - note 178 degree vertical viewing angle.

!! (maybe this is why people don't trust CNET reviews?)
L2440x ............ LED backlight
L2440p ............ CCFL backlight
Although there is a possibility that European versions are different than USA versions - I think Flatpanels (Danish) is incorrect.

Just move away from those Lenovo displays and get a Dell 2209WA which I believe is eIPS and you can get it on the cheap for around $220 through the right channels.
If you get on dell's small business web chat and ask them for a quote on the 2209WA (careful on the model, there are 3 2209 variants with diff letters) they will quote you around $220+tax. If they don't, say thanks but no thanks, close the web chat, open it and ask again.
