Over heated Brown Thrasher
In the mid-afternoon heat, this Brown Thrasher visited my yard and presented me with a number of strange poses. The spread wings and the panting with an open mouth indicate that the poor little bird had become over heated with the 90 deg. temps, and was attempting to cool off.

Birds do look injured when they are hot or wet. I saw a Bald Eagle hanging down it's wings when it had gotten soaked from rain. Looks terrible, but he was just drying out.
