Found this marmalade hoverfly egg-laying on an aphid infested shoot. It carefully examines each part of the plant for the presence of aphids before landing and laying an egg near each colony.

I was trying too shoot this same thing last week but my little girl never came out into the open for a good shot. I finally gave up after an hour of watching and moved on
