How do I place an image in multiple galleries?

Hi, I'm new here. Apologies if this is a dumb question.

I've uploaded some pictures to SmugMug and there they sit in their galleries. However I want to have some of the images in more than one gallery. I shoot birds mainly so at the moment they're all organised into related species, raptors, wildfowl etc. For example I'd like to select the best from the various galleries to create a 'my best 20 shots' gallery. Like wise I'd want a 'birds near my house' gallery and so on.

I had a play round with the customise gallery tools but could only find the option to physically move an image to another gallery. If I move to a new gallery it obviously disappears from the orignal one. There is an option to copy, should I be using that? Seems like a bit of a hassle..........

Any advice greatly appreciated......

you can either copy the images within smug and them move the copied images to the other gallery, or you can upload them twice.

That's what I thought. Have to say I'm a little surprised at this.

It seems like it should be a pretty easy and basic thing to have images in multiple galleries (even the free Flickr account has this option).

C'mon SmugMug. Pull your finger out here.

For now, we don't have it.

You could take a look at the keyword functionality. That allows you to group photos together that have the same keyword. Read more about keywords here.
