He wouldn't let me get too close, but certainly closer than I usually get. Skittish little things usually fly before I can touch my camera.

    I think the first one would be better with a tighter crop. I'd crop up to the big post in the foreground and down to the holes for the rails in the remaining posts.

    Thanks for the suggestion. I had tried but it lost any quailty at that point. (became as blurry at the 2nd one. I just flat need a bigger better camera with a bigger better lens.... ahhh well ... some day.
    It actually works for what I took it for and that was an assignment in a club for gates and fences.

    Just to finally get a few pictures amazed me. I'm hoping to get out there early tomorrow and sit in the same spot. A bald Eagle was seen there yesterday and we thought they had all migrated.

    I used a different method to crop and it actually worked better. Usually it isn't very good at cropping. It did still lose a lot. :D Yep, I'd say a new camera is a must... or else I am going to have to get REALLY good at sneaking around to get closer.
