Confused about page layout

It seems that my default settings for the page layout in my different galleries has changed without my knowledge. I have always set my galleries to the Smugmug Classic with a default theme. I would like my galleries to have the small thumbnails to the left of the screen with the selected photo larger on the right (which some are), but it seems that other galleries with the same settings just display the small thumbnails. Is this normal or am I setting something incorrectly (or forgetting to set something) ?

This change seem to have happened about a month ago and has shown-up on galleries that were created last year / did display correctly and now display incorrectly. A affected gallery: http://bikeguy.smugmug.com/gallery/5491769_QPhxF/1/335869656_5s7EZ

Any assistance in this matter would be helpful as I am very confused as to the correct settings needed to display my galleries in the desired format.

The two galleries display identically on my system. I suspect it's something on your local configuration. The first thing to check is to make sure that your browser zoom is set to "no zoom" or "100%".

One gallery is locked to the Smugmug style and the other is "Viewer Controlled" style which can be anything the viewer last used on Smugmug. If you want them the same, you could make this setting be the same on the two. Or, you could just pick the "smugmug" style in the one gallery that is viewer controlled and your browser will then be set for that.

In your "correct" gallery, you have forced the gallery to smugmug style in the gallery customisation.

In your "incorrect" gallery, you have allowed the user to be able to change the style of the gallery via the drop-down list at the top right. The initial version that they see will be determined by your viewer's smugmug cookies (and will be the value they set, the last time they changed viewing styles on a smugmug gallery).
