Microsoft releases beta Photoshop rival

It's named "Acrylic" and combines pixel and vector graphic manipulation (PS and Illustrator). It can open Adobe formats, but can only save in it's own native format right now. Other caveats: high system requirements, slow speed. Pretty typical of a beta.

Personally, I don't think MS will successfully penetrate this market anytime soon. But it never stops them from trying...

    If nothing else, it would cause Adobe less sleep and maybe draw the prices down a bit.. I definitely welcome the competition:-)
