This is my first photo post here, so to get acquainted I thought I'd share a few assorted critter shots. All were shot around my home town of Minneapolis Minnesota. Some were in zoos, some not. Hope you enjoy them, and that I didn't post too many.

Thanks dnie! I looked at your site - some of your shots remind me of Iowa, where I grew up. Brought back memories...very nice stuff!

Thanks Dan! Glad to find this forum.
That 500mm glass is really a Nikkor 300mm f/4 AF-S with a Nikon 1.7x converter. Big surprise to me - I wasn't expecting great things, but it's worked out very nicely so far. :ivar

Thanks Stephen! Yeah, that coyote wasn't very cooperative that day. He was a lot more interested in the other coyotes than he was of me - go figure!

I mean he looks like KONGS son.
Oh great did I just start another king kong title?

Thanks Chile Chef! Nothing wrong with another "Kong" title, IMO.
That gorilla was fun to watch. The grumpy look on his face is because he was watching some teenage girls, who were to my left. Whatever they were doing, he clearly didn't approve. After a bit he snorted in disgust, and stomped away. Kinda sent chills down my spine, 'cause it seemed like I could tell what he was thinking!

You know we're derived from apes right?
