Can Smugmug support secure http for direct links to photos?

This may sound a bit of a strange question, but please bear with me...
I'm trying to set up paypal to use with my photos (being UK based, the SM shopping cart isn't really an option).
And if I'm to use paypal, I'd like to set up custom paypal headers and need to have secure links or everyone will get the "this page contains secure and insecure items" message.
I've had a play, and at first, thought it was going to work: when I put a link to one of my photos with a https prefix, it complained that only *.smugmug.com would work. Great I thought, so I put https://xavimages.smugmug.com/blabla but now it complains that the link is via akamai hence a potential fraud, etc. Doh!
So, is there a way around this, or would I have to find some other server which supports secure http for the photos / logos I need to include with the paypal transactions?
Thanks in advance :thumb
edit: just to clarify, I can get it to work with secure http, but have to allow the exceptions. So it's no better than having the "secure and insecure" warning from ebay.
