I recently asked similar question at Dgrin.
I ended up with "one-light-stand" setup, which I plan eventually to expand to 4 lights one (2 fronts, 1 hair, 1 background)
I cannot overemphausize the simplicity and convenience of the wireless setup.
Of course if you have a dedicated studio hotlights will be a cheaper and prolly more convenient solution, but if you think of any location work - this is the way to go.
As Shay pointed out - start with a working piece of of future good/ideal setup and enhance as as the time/buget allows.
I'm very glad I followed his advice!
