I wonder about categories and sub-cat. I can't seem to get my categories right, in the up loader smugmug (whatever) it wants me to make a category or a album so I do then in my website I make another before hand and then when I go to the photo's there is two categories or one cat and one sub, with the same name or close, it looks confusing to me and I'm sure it would be to others.

I also have my page about me come up with a shopping cart, share and slideshow I'd like to not have these on all my pages can you give me a hand to find out how?

Lynn
I have been to this FAQ: http://www.smugmug.com/help/upload-photo

    Well, guess that I'll try a different approach
    Ok, since I posted my last thread I'll give it a go from a different question. I'm having a problem getting my head rapped around this category, sub-cat.
    Here is what I'm doing I have a category of Weber rafting and I believe that sprouts off into girls day out then 5-17-2009 is this the way that you make your categories work, what if I want to make another day of 5-19-2009 do I add this to the weber rafting or to the girls day out.

    and I would like to get rid of the share, shopping cart, slideshow and buy on my site is there a way to do that? I'd just like to clean my site up and make it look like its mine and not so much a part of smugmug, not that that so bad.

    Ok, now that I'm talking to myself, I have figured out the galleries thing, yahoo. Now I'm still a long ways off from the how to get some of the share, shopping cart, slideshow and buy off my site so that it will be more mine oriented. I guess that I'll try the search. That will be a good thing to try I guess.

    If you don't intend to sell photos, set printable to no on the gallery customization screens for all of your galleries. That will remove the cart and buy.

    Why do you want to remove the ability to view your photos via the slideshow? The button can be removed, but I highly recommend keeping it.

    Denise,
    first off thanks for your reply, I want to sell my photo's but want to be able to set the size of the prints instead of all the sizes that the two company's that are printing them at and I feel that there's to much there. I like the fact that they do it all take care of the money and print the photo's and ship them. And as far as selling my prints I don't feel that I have enough on this site to sell yet and when I do than I'll turn on the cart button and sell them. Another thing is that I just want to sell the river rafting photo's for now.
    I don't want to take the slideshow off but would like to know how to do it. Thanks again for the idea on how to take the shopping cart and buy off.
    enough of my rambleings
    take care

    I don't want to take the slideshow off but would like to know how to do it.
    This CSS will remove the slideshow button:
    #altViews #slideshowButton {
        display: none;
    }

    As far as the pricing goes, it's not difficult to make sizes as not available - just set the prices to 0 for those sizes.

    My understanding was that the prices that we don't put a price on would sell for cost of the company to print, or the price that's there is the price. Maybe I read it wrong.

    If you don't want a size to be available, set it to 0 (zero). It won't be offered for sale if the price is set to zero. It will be offered for sale at the default price if you leave the price blank.

    From the section labeled Some pricing ground rules on this page - http://www.smugmug.com/help/print-pricing:
    • In general, products with blank fields (boxes) are available for purchase at SmugMug's default prices and are not tracked or listed in your sales reports.
    • If you want a product unavailable for purchase by your customers, you must price it at $0.00.
