    Thanks Skippy :)- not many of the UK bees have visible eye markings like these - most are just very dark.

    I just noticed that we use the exact same set up. So my shots should look just as good as yours, right? NO!! rolleyes1.gif

    I love the colors in these! I cant seem to get the same crispness out of mine. Are you using a tripod and rail? Magic? superior PP skills? Voodoo?? :D

    I suspect the only difference is I tend to shoot with fairly open apertures compared to most macro- shooters to avoid diffraction softening and then often get the DOF back by focus stacking. I don't use a tripod at all - I often use a bean pole - just grip the pole in the left hand along with a bit of camera.

    Mark - I'm a bit of Luddite- I tend to use the older combinez5 (freeware) or actually probably do more by hand in PS simply by using the healing brush from one pic to another.
    There is a new stacking prog which has a free test version that is supposed to be very good- have not tried it yet.
