I am not sure where to place this.

Thank you for any info that can be sent to me.

I am not currently selling at the art shows but from the shows and farmers markets I have attended it seems the better photos sell for more money (8x10 unsigned starting at around $20...signed a lot more: double or more.....)
The specialities in my area are Aircraft and Wildlife.....Aircraft photos (in flight especially) sell a lot higher than a fantastic photo of the Historic buildings (16 x 20 - $150 or more for in flight aircraft)...........

My rule is simple.....if I charge $35 for an 8x10 portrait or wedding shot.....then my art work is worth at least as much.......so basically I start my pricing equal to or slightly greater than my portrait and wedding pricing for prints......

headscratch.gif From my experience you had better have a lot of very inexpensive stuff to offer. Note cards, unmounted & unframed prints to meet the cost of entering the show and of course the expenses. Unless you have something very unique or the show is geared towards photography I would doubt that the expensive stuff will sell well.

I sell loose 12 x 18 prints tacked to a piece of matboard and sealed in a clear bag for $35.00. Single mats and double matted prints are $10.00 and $20.00 more. Dry mounted to foam board is another $20.00. I also sell 8 x 10/12 and some 5 x 7. I also have a few greeting cards available.

I generally use two medium size print bins for display along with a few hanging in the tent. I also have a floor rack for the smaller prints and cards.

You never know from show to show what is going to sell.

I only do small local shows so this keeps my costs and inventory down. I don't try to make a living at it. It's a fun day that usually results in a tidy profit.

    Hav fun.
