At last, i have been trying to get a shot of this elusive heron for over 1 year. I was walking a remote lake when i saw a pair of Heron on the far side of the lake. After stalking for over 2 hours i finally got a shot of my tarhet.

The Green Heron is fairly scarce here and they are always very cautious.

Very nice shots. The coloration is very different for a Heron, at least in my limited experience. Interesting bird.

Good captures Pete. They are a very shy bird. We have a lot of them down here but there are still very hard to capture. You did good here. thumb.gif

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

    Thanks Guys
Yes this Heron is very shy here also, a great bird with some wonderful colors. Lots of stealth needed .

You did a great job of "hunting" him down without spooking him. The shots show such color and clarity.

    fantastic.

    Good work Pete thumb.gifthumb

Yep, those Green Herons don't like people much :uhoh You can walk right past them and they won't move, but if they know you are looking at them or stalking them, forget about it rolleyes1.gif Because of this, I've got a ton of Greenie butt shots.....Laughing.gif
