It could have been a good one, i set my camera to aperture priority but forgot to change from iso 200 to 400 realized when i got home, I'll get it right one of these days.

You sound like me you get so caught up in what your looking at that you forget to check your gear and settings ohhhhh well we learn the hard way hu
I think it did but he still caught it off his chest From now on i am going to set my camera before i go
This is my last post for 3 weeks off to Norway,Sweden , Finland up to the Russian boarder and back down Norway through the Fjords by motorbike. My landscapes are better so hope to have some good shots to share with you when i get back

Hi Gary, I'm heading off on a big trip too in about 7 weeks time to USA.....well I've been there 5 times before but I usually get to visit some place I haven't been before each time I go.......I'm looking forwarding to seeing some images from your trip, by then I might be able to share some of mine too

Using Av mode will insure that you always get the fastest possible shutter speed, which is important for stick-and-ball sports. But yeah, you need to watch the ISO so that you get a reasonably fast shutter speed as well.
The other thing to watch is the focus point. Judging by that scene, a center-focus point probably would have landed on the background rather than on the players. :O
