Atlanta Georgia Aquarium
I had a couple hours to spend/kill in Atlanta, so I went to the Aquarium. Very impressive space, well done. I found it a bit over advertised, with each area sponsered by a different company, Coke, Ga Power, GP , etc.
I did find specific things facinating. I did not have a "good" camera, but had my little Canon SD 600 ELF in my briefcase, so I do not have excelllent images, but memories!
First, I saw the "Jellies". Now, I have seen several posts here about these at the Monteray Aquarium and I didnt really get the allure. But, I have to say that live they are impressive:
The next stop was the main aquarium. It doesnt show scale like you would imagine, but it is BIG!
A grouper:
The "talk":
Now go back and look again at the man talking and the size of the shark over his head:
That is a pretty big shark! (Filter feeder, not man eater!)
Beluga whales seemed happy:
Heads up with Mr. Grouper:
Any way, kids everywhere - school trips:
But fairly well behaved:
I just bet they didnt spend the $50 they hit up the casual tourist for the day!
(to be accurate, $10 for parking, $27 to get in (w/o the 3D movie pass) plus $14.99 plus tax for a tee shirt.)
Fun way to spend a spare hour, and points out the value of always carrying a camera, no matter how small!

It is the purpose of life that each of us strives to become actually what he is potentially. We should be obsessed with stretching towards that goal through the world we inhabit.
