Could anyone comment on the PPA certification? - Is it worth it to get certified by the PPA? How respectable is the certification?

Thanks.

I'd also be curious what the response is for this. I'm an NAPP member, but mostly for the perks and not the actual "title". I've thought about PPA as well, but don't know if it is worth it.

eek7.gif What is interesting is the lack of responses. I too joined PPofA for the perks (insurance) only many years ago and in the past have been a member of many like orgainizations. So is the lack of responders because a lot of you feel the same way, don't feel a need for the credits gained from PPofA or just don't find the need for professional organizations at all?headscratch.gif

Hmm, what are all the perks of PPofA, and the others? How much are they? How good is the insurrance? what does the insurrance cover?

eek7.gif When you are a full time photographer the saying goes "it's not if you get sued but when!" MY suit was from a disruptive bride. She and the wedding party were "three sheets to the wind" before during and after. When doing the formals (I was using a studio light) my main light got kicked aside and affected my exposure considerably (film days). Although I had many images that weren't affected they were going to take me to court for full amount PLUS. My attorney said that she was confident in the case but it would probably be in front of a lot of people in court and more than likely the word would get out. Of course everyone will be siding with the bride. She insinuated that maybe I shouldn't take the chance. I contacted PPofA and their attorney's contacted me right away and paid the attorney fees plus the refund to the bride. If you are interested in awards and pats on the back or just the camraderie of others in the field than this type of organization would be for you. It cost a few hundred dollars a year but I feel it's worth it.mwink.gif
