Ability to modify 'new stuff' search?

I just tried to modify my forum options so that 'new stuff' only showed me select forums (such as landscape, whipping post, finishing school, etc). However, when I did this, all other forum subjects disappeared and I could no longer access them. I realized I can modify my bookmark with 'exclude' text but that limits me to this search on a single computer. Is there any way to allow users to modify what shows under 'new stuff' without affecting the forum list structure? Ideally I want a quick way to follow just those threads I contribute most to but still be able to see all forum topics by clicking on the Digital Grin Photography Forum header.
Thanks,
E

I think your understanding is correct of the interaction of new stuff and the forum list. Have you tried using "My Subscribed Threads" in the Quick Links dropdown or Subscriptions in the Forum Jump dropdown? There are also quite a few products/services out there that would enable you to access bookmarks across the net, so you could roll your own search using include/exclude and access it everywhere. I use custom search strings in my bookmarks, and they don't change very often, so maybe you could just put a copy on each machine. ne_nau.gif

    Hi Richard,
i have used the 'my subscribed' links but really want to become more involved in forums like landscape, people - at least on a more regular basis.
I use Foxmarks to sync bookmarks but can't do this at work (or on my iphone) where it would be nice to have that function built into the 'new stuff' link.
    Thanks for the thoughts,
    E
