I know, this doesn't belong here. Admins, kill it if you'd like. It's at least worth a shot for me, and this sub-forum is my best bet since you guys actually hike to take Landscapes :)

Cross-posted from many other online forums:
Was skiing James Peak yesterday (Skypilot Couloir, amongst others) and my dog got stuck on a snowy rock ledge.
Downclimbed to her, she didn't seem hurt but I couldn't risk exposing myself too much and had to leave her.
Organized a rescue with a group of friends this morning (Monday 18) but she was gone by then.
Must've found a way out. I'm sure she's ok and wandering around or has been picked up by a kind hiker.

Description:
Siberian Husky, ~2yo, female, white & gray coat, just shedded, skinny and athletic, one blue eye, one brown eye with a blue wedge. She was wearing a remote training collar, nothing else on her. Spayed.

Location:
James Peak, Co. We came up from the St Mary's side so if she got out she might've headed back down that way, unless she got out and descended Sky Pilot to the base of James then dropped into the valley and headed towards East Portal, Rollinsville, or even Nederland. Could be anywhere...

So... Hit me up if you hear about / find her.

Thanks so much!
_Bernardo

Oh no! I'm so sorry to see this and I hope that she's OK and finds her way home. I hike with my dog and have wondered if others get separated from each other. Kiska seems much more capable of handling such weather, though.

I am just going to move this to Big Picture, so a wider variety of people can see this. Best of luck to you, and to her.

Thanks so much schmoo! Trying to get as much exposure as I can.
I am convinced that by now someone has her.
Either they haven't seen my signs / posts yet, or they decided to keep her.

A few pics to keep it Photography related :)

What a beautiful girl!! I wouldn't blame anyone for keeping such a lovely dog, but still I hope that you can be reunited with her soon. :(

What a beautiful dog! How horrible to have to leave her behind. I sure hope you find her. I live in California, but have a few "doggie" friends in Colorado. So I'm going to send a link to this site. You never know! Good luck!

Sorry to hear, but that's why you don't take a dog skiing with you and you always have a dog tag w/ contact information on it.

    Beautiful dog though.

Does she have a microchip? Have you posted to petfinder.com or any other online site? Can you place an ad with your local paper (sometimes even online)?

Beautiful photos of a beautiful dog.

    Any word?

I do hope someone's found and returned her to you. If not, a post to the DC might help or maybe hit a couple of the mountaineering shops in town.

    She's not back yet :(

    DC?

I've posted on many online mountaineering forums, I've posted fliers in several towns around the area she was lost, and I've called every animal shelter in a 50+ mile radius. I'm hoping she will show up :)

My feeling is that someone has her and is either waiting to take her to a pound/shelter or wants to keep her. The more people get the word out about her, the greater the chance is I will hear something about someone finding a Husky, or that someone taking her to a shelter.

Thanks for looking, thanks for the concern everybody!

    What a beautiful dog.

Are there any Husky rescue groups near you? A husky forum online? If you post/contact there, hopefully you'd get some help in the area to help with your search. I know with some breeds you can get a lot of help quickly if you get the information to the right place.

Good luck! I wish I could help more.
