2:1 macro,

first a globular springtail (0.8mm (sorry first calc was wong) - head to ? tail)

then it's predator (one of many) a pseudo scorpion (1.7mm) - same calc mistake
claws not included 542983167_PqKtG-L.jpg
The black pole in front of it is the leg of a gnat.

    Lovely micro captures :)
Suspect the sizes are slight underestimates ?

    The setup is rather simple,
    pentax k20d, + kiron 105mm 1:1 manual macro lens, + rainox dcr250 (diopter +2)
(I know an extention tube would be better but for me that rainox works. )
external flash, off camera with lightbox and an extra 130watt tl lamp for extra light.

Both small things where crawling on a piece of plastic, placed the lamp at one side the flash on the other, and then tried to get a good enough exposure, and shot.

    Succes raiting (1/100)

    Thanks Brian,

for both shots I had a 2:1 magnification (calculated that with the same settings of the lens and photographing a ruler.) Then measured the number of pixels that the creature had and calculated from there backwards to get the size, but to be real sure I'm going to recalculate it again.

    [Edit]
Just recalculated it again, somehow instead of multiplying by 2 i divided by 2 :( so I was a factor 4 wrong.
The small one is then .8mm and the big one 1.7mm
    best regards
