We spent two hours last night with the flowers.
Handheld, ISO200, 1/200 at f/18, minimal Lightroom 2 post processing, no cropping.
I love this lens!

Nice first result! One opportunity for improvement: The lighting seems a tiny bit harsh resulting in some distracting shadows. Perhaps worth a shot at dusk?

    Thanks Brendan,
Actually I was after the chiaroscuro effect. I tend to subconsciously seek it in just about everything.
Perhaps it's a bad idea for flowers?

Hmm... I don't think it's a bad idea per se. I don't think it's quite my preference, but if that's what you're going for, that's all that matters. thumb.gif

I think that the effect in this shot feels a bit unintentional to me, as many flowers shot in harsh light have similar shadows cutting across the petals. Perhaps if the effect was stronger I would appreciate it more..? Not sure.
