Hi there;
I hope these aren't stupid questions, but I was wondering if it's possible to add an individual image to a group or community; or do you have to associate your whole album? Also I see many SmugMug users have lots of comments on their images from other SM users - yet I haven't seen any way for other users to actually know I exist here. So how, outside of advertising on my own website, forums, etc. do I let people know I've recently started using SM? How does one go about having a popular photo for the day?
Finally is there a way for me to be able to share my images (post them to forums, websites, etc.) without having to enable the share button? Or is there a way that I'm the only one who can use the share button? I'd like to be able to blog my images but certainly don't want others having free reign with them. (I am switching to SM from Flickr because of the unstoppable theft issues.)
Any replies and help appreciated!

If this works you should see a picture. How I did this was take the information from the url of the image page which looks like this: The information at the end, after the # symbol is the image name. So then you use that to come up with the URL for the image, by adding your SmugMug address in front of /photos/ with the http information. Then you have to specify what size you want to show, and indicate it's a jpg. Sizes are designated by a capital letter S=small M=medium L=Large
Short version
So for my image the URL looks like this:
Still hoping someone can answer my other questions about how to become part of the SmugMug community and making connections with other photographers here.

Popular photos are determined by thumbs up or thumbs down selection (available when you hover your mouse over an image).
I see you've answered your own question about posting images, but there is an easier way if you want to do a little customizing. Turn the share button on and then add
.notLoggedIn #shareButton {display: none;}
to your CSS. This will turn the share button off to anyone not logged in to your site. So, easy sharing for you and no links for your viewers!

Thanks for your reply! I knew there had to be another solution for allowing the share button to work for just the owner!
