The first three images took quite an amount of editing to get what I wanted but thought they turned out pretty cool. The last 3 are from the airplane shoot with some additional editing. My face feels like a monitor screen :cry

    Dave,

    I love #2 & #3, although all are great.

Is it just me, or have you fairly recently turned on the "cool PP" switch ne_nau.gif

Either way, love your work thumb.gif

Heheh....thanks so much Randy. Like everything else, you work and work, then one day, wake up and say....THIS is where I want to go. As you know, it takes a great deal of time honing skills. Emulating superior work of others is not only inspiring but puts a new perspective on how our work could improve. I spend countless hours viewing images and asking, "what works, what doesn't". Over on Model Mayhem, there are some spectacular photographs and makes one realize, there is still a loooooong way to go....Laughing.gif. Thank you for noticing. PP improvement is a journey and always want to inspire and be inspired....it's what passion is all about. iloveyou.gif

Thanks very much Jeff. I had someone ask me if that was Hogwarts Express..Laughing.gif. That is actually a train engine in repair at a museum. The outer parts of the body were removed and was fascinated to see what the core of a train engine looked like. I thought it would be a great background, so took numerous shots of it from different perspectives.....glad I did...Laughing.gif.

Thanks Dream....well, a workshop, eh? I have given that some thought but much is learned by doing, experimenting, goofing around. Getting familiar with PS/LR is the biggest step one can take. There are no magic formulas...it's all about what one wishes to accomplish in post. Some like bad color tones, vinettes and textures and others like clean, polished and sharp. Both ends of the spectrum are possible with today's software. Find what you like and work diligently at mastering that. There are numerous tutorials on YouTube along with other public sites. A good place to start is right here on DGrin. There are some good tutes for Lab saturation, photo pop, etc. Start with the basics and move to the next level....and remember...Laughing.gif Rome wasn't built in a day :D

Thanks for the advise Swartzy! I have figured out my style, or better yet, what I enjoy creating in my shots. I also agree with you about the info and help here on dgrin. This is such a perfect place for me. I have learned so much since I found the site. I love it. I am just trying to fill my nogin with the tech side. I was even considering going to Brown, not so much for the degree aspect, but so I could be aided in my education. Finacialy though it is not possible at the moment. So I have just been searching, studying and learning all I can from the web. It has helped so far. I thank everyone on here for being so helpful...also the talent on here is amazing.:D

    Heya swarts,

I like #2 the best! You sure do these well!

Are you using a stylus for these or mousin' around? Sure seems like with all that masking a stylus would come in handy. (Not that I have one, but I tried someone elses for a few minutes and it was pretty neat!)

Hey Fred...thanks...and yes, I do use a stylus....Wacom 4x6 tablet. I tried larger ones but generally one doesn't draw using their forearm...Laughing.gif. I like the control of the smaller tablet and it is mapped for my main monitor (24").
