Pre-sunrise shot from Kirby Cove in the Marin Headlands.

Last April, I spent the night at Kirby Cove Campground and
woke up early to catch this shot.

Other photos from Kirby Cove, some were posted in a thread
last year.

Thanks for viewing.

Very cool perspective and beautiful colors. How was the camping experience at Kirby Cove?

    Thanks tisun.

The camping is quite nice. There are only 4 spots, so you have to
    reserve months ahead of time.

It's also a dry camp so you need to bring your own water.

Also you need to lug your gear from the parking lot to the camp site
which could amount to about 50 to 100 yards.

I was there only one night so I didn't have a lot of gear. Just a tent
and sleeping bag and a small stove to boil water and a little bit
    of food.

Raccoons are prevalent so stash your food away.

The campsites are under tall pine trees.

The weather will be whatever it is. The weekend I was there the
Bay Area had a heat wave so it was quite comfortable. I can imagine
that it would be cold and foggy at other times of the year.

You don't have to camp, you can hike the mile down and up, though
camping makes it easier to shoot during the night and early morning.

Great composition and lovely colors. It's really hard to get a shot of the two bridges without the far one getting a bit lost in the background, but you have succeeded here. Very well done. clap.gif

Very nice Alvin. Folks from outside the Bay Area don't realize how rare a capture that is.

The comp & colors are wonderful

Thanks Richard. Kirby Cove offers a different view of the Golden Gate and
S.F. I was fortunate to have such nice weather on my visit.
    Interesting composition.

Thanks Canned Grins, I was hoping for a unique view.

Rags - Always appreciate your comments. The weather was abnormally
    clear and warm that weekend.

Alvin this is perfect! 15524779-Ti.gif with Richard that it's very hard to get both of these structures together but you nailed it - composition, color and all. I love this shot and it was worth the wait for the light.

I remember your shots from the same place last year (and your furry neighbor) and IIRC yours was the gallery that put Kirby Cove on my map. thumb.gif

Hey Schmoo. Thanks for your generous comments. I really appreciate it. I
hope you get the chance to shoot it sometime soon. I know you'll come
