HELP! Exporting from Aperture - to PC

I frequently email photos to magazines and newspapers. Since switching to a MAC (Apple Mail) and Aperture (which is very new to me!) I'm having problems.

I haven't figured out how to control the resolution on exported jpegs out of Aperture. And, when I attach a jpeg to an email, the photo is imbedded, not sent as an attachment - which really annoys editors. Help, please? :bow:dunno

You control the output by selecting an export preset.

To specify what resolution is used when sending Email, go to Aperture Preferences and click on Export (3rd item). Near the bottom it says "Email Export Preset", beside which there is a pick list and to the right of that there is a button. Click on the button to see all of your Export presets.

You will see a list of export presets that you can modify (add or delete presets with the + and - buttons at the bottom. Double-click any item in the list to edit its name. Choose one that is nearly what you want, edit it to make it exactly what you want, and name it so you will recognize the name later. Click OK.

Back at the Aperture Preferences pane, click on the Email Export Preset pick list and select the preset you have edited/named.

Now when you choose File, Email in Aperture, the image will be rendered as you intended and placed in an email message.

Control Click on the image (in the email message) and choose "View as Icon" from the short menu that pops up to make it appear as an icon in the message.

Yes, I've had several photos published in the past. But, I just got Aperture about a week ago and had an editor call for a photo and was totally stumped because he kept getting 72dpi versions.

Thanks to you, that issue is now fixed. I've sent him the 300dpi version and he should be happy.
