A Small Maine Wedding

I'm a compulsive lurker, but finally have a shoot that went well enough that I wanted to share. This was my third wedding (of all time) and my second of the year. It was really cloudy all day and the sun broke just in time for some fun.

I'll share more once I get them all uploaded. Post processing done in LR2.

Here are a few more of my favorites from the shoot.

(I had to teach the groom how to dip. But she wasn't too trusting of the situation!)

They didn't want the traditional rings with flowers shot, so I went with metal instead. Oh, and the groom was more excited about the sunset than the bride was.

And, just for fun, "She caught her a good one!" (It was all his idea.)

    C&C welcomed, as always.

Some good shots here. What fort is that? Looked through the gallery(I live near that rt) You need to watch your horizon, theres lots of off kilter shots in there.

Do you know the b&g to know where they live?

Good tip about the horizon though. I'm not afraid to say that I'm still a newb. I'll make a conscious effort to pay attention to it this weekend. thumb.gif

    BTW, it's Fort Popham.

Yes - in the recent days of the inauguration, the ice storms, the cold weather, the bad news of our economic climate, the never-ending wars in the middle-east, there still seems to be a “silver lining in the sky”. Couples are bonding closer together and deciding on when, where, how and why to get married.

    thanks !

Thanks! It's another beach side wedding, but slightly bigger. It will give me more experience with sunsets and the horizon line. I've been learning tons more with every single shot, so I'm excited to see how I'm doing at the end of the "season". This one was my 3rd wedding ever, so I know I have a lot to learn and a long way to go.

    Horizon tip:

Im a tilter, but if you are going to tilt, it should look purposeful...but without being TOO much. I put a new focus screen in my 50D that has a grid of straight lines etched in it to aid in lining up on verticle or horizontal lines in a composition. It also....somewhat helps in setting up rule of thirds type compositions or composing a shot for those tighter crops. Its at the link....and simple to install.

Thanks for the link. Definitely sounds like it would be a good tool to have since it would act as a reminder to me if things aren't quite right. I've added it to my list of things to buy in my next BH order. thumb.gif
