Not far from where I live is this little mountain named Steptoe Butte. I had not been up there since 1980, and have been wanting to visit. A couple of week ends ago, we drove out there, and here are a few pics.
I am sure that these pics are not as good as some that you are going to be seeing very soon from coscorrosa and dseidman, but I gave it a go anyway. I hope that you enjoy them.

If you are ever in the area, it is worth the drive to the top.

A view of Steptoe Butte from the little hill behind our home. It is way off in the distance.

Awesome series! I tried to get some shots like #7 and #8 but it was way too windy to keep the camera steady enough.

You're lucky to live so close! I'd be up there at least a couple times a month. :D

Beautiful, 7 and 8 are my favorites, also dig the marmot shot!

You're fortunate to live so close to some awesome scenery.

These are my favorites. Great lines throughout the first one, and I like the wide expanse of the 2nd. Wish it wasn't as hazy, but not much you can do about it.

    Great set, great work.

Thanks Ron. I think that the marmot is a poser! Here was another one from later in the day. I don't know how well that they can see, but I am wondering if this one is enjoying the scenery as much as we did:).
