Had my own mini-invasion of the french painted lady butterflies yesterday morning- had more than a dozen fluttering around the front garden feeding on the flowers. Full flash closeups.

Thanks Paul
Many butterflies have hairy eyes- seems to be common amongst insects that get near pollen.

I think it was early summer 1997 in the Phoenix area.
The painted lady butterflies were swarming so densely for at least a week that they were nigh plague proportions.
But whoever heard of a "plague" of butterflies?!
actually saw my first on monday, guess it wasnt a migrant:D

Well we had a plague of ladybirds in 1976 after an extremely warm summer.

Can I ask, is there any stacking going on here or are they all single shot?
Yes they are all stacked, the first 3 just using 2 shots each but the higher mag shots used about 6 shots each.
