i love my 50mm 1.4 its great!

This is my son and the first pics i took with my new lens! Its from a nikon film camera and is safe for my dlsr... i got it from a friend for 50 dollars! woot ... i have to manual focus it but i can deal with that... how did i do? oh and i know the sun is harsh but i was just trying it!

    I like the first one. The second one the crop seems funny to me. I you are going to do a crop like that maybe a full half face crop, it looks like he is one eyed, not artistically cropped. just my two cents!

    I agree with the flutist about the cropped image. But the first image is wonderful, I just wish his chin wasn't cut. I love the eyes

    It's a great lens, I have one that I used on my D40 since the 50mm 1.8 wouldn't autofocus anyway. I have a D90 now so I got a 1.8... anyone want to buy one of these?

    Anyway, I agree about the crop on the second shot. The first one is good but there are some blown highlights which I don't care for.
