I have recently expanded into shooting with strobes, trying out various techniques in lighting, would like your opinions purty please. BTW, on #2, that is really her eyes, there was no PS manipulation other than saturation.

These are both great shots, especially if you're new at the strobe game. I think your ratios are spot on and the shadows are nice and soft.

#1 may be a little underexposed. That could be my monitor as I'm looking from a laptop calibrated only with Adobe Gamma. So take that with a grain of salt! ne_nau.gif

#2 seems to be a little oversaturated maybe? There seems to be a lot of red in her skin. Those eyes, though! They are fantastic!

I'm really into #1.... Really into it.
Nice eyes in #2 but agree its somewhat over sat'd/skin tone is off.

Good start. #1 could be a bit brighter and that would draw ones eye more to the face. I think on #2 you wanted the iris to be saturated but you did the entire print. If that was your intent just select the eyes and saturate them and the skin would be more normal.

Thank you all. I see the point on restricting the saturation to the eyes to get a more natural skin tone. I will re-run that picture in PS with a layer mask and see how it looks.:D
