DSS #26 Idea

After seeing the first few entries posted, I knew that this was going to be a challenge where I had to step things up drastically. I've spent my lunches every day this week at The National Cathedral in DC trying to come up with the image that I had in mind. Then Sweet Caroline beat me to the post with the idea. Don't they say "Great minds think alike."? I hope that mine is different enough that we don't over-shadow one another. (With any necessary apologies to SC here's my try at this challenge.) A reshoot is probably not possible due to scheduling but I have many images and compositions to work with. All C&C is appreciated and needed.

Thanks for looking.

rolleyes1.gifWow Kevin.. you out did yourself here.. this is just gorgeous and well shot too; I might say... Those beams are fabulous. I really like the feel that the stone work gives the composition..

Not much to suggest on this one, it is just about perfect Kevin.. however, lower right hand corner red object on the floor that you may consider burning in and making it dark or black so that it does not distract from the comp.. just a small suggestion since "red" is such a dominate color, it draws the eye.....Awesome Entry Well Shot.. Gorgeous! Okay, now I'm under more pressure to reshoot mine so I can compete with yours! I have a similar shot with a chair in a corner surrounded by stained glass, but not the amazing beams you captured. Seriously, good work.

Beautiful - just beautiful. Superb composition and perfect exposure. clap.gif Would love to know what you had to do to get those sunbeams to show up so nicely.

Sorry Aaron, I used up all of the sunlight. There's no more left. Bwa hahaha!

Benjer, it took some work. I'll let you in on a secret, but don't tell anyone. Don't believe everything that you see.

Aaron, that's why I keep all my light bottled and sorted by color. :D

I'd like to see how you did this. :D I tried something similar for this challenge with the insides of a church and could not get the light beams to look right.

Sweet, I also agree on the crop.
Did the generator and light rental set you back much??

Here are two more with slight variations in the composition (chair placement) as well as exposure and such.

I think your first one is the keeper. It has just the right amount of light rays. To me the 2nd and 3rd have too much...looks forced maybe? Just me. Title? hmmm..."Quiet Guidance" maybe???

At any rate, it's one of my favorites of the round! Well done.:D
