Some new things I've been trying

A couple of images I took at a wedding today. I've been experimenting with off camera flash, but this is the first time outside using high speed sync. The harsher one was with the flash bare, the other one using a shoot through umbrella.

    The 2nd pic is much better, especially the colors (skin tone, sky, grass, etc), it looks more natural that 'feel' is much better. The 1st pic is too harsh and the skin and top of the dress look over exposed.

    there is something i like about the first one, though. the second one seems almost too soft to me... the first one seems more fitting for the pose and the expression of the bride.

    to each his own, i guess ;)
