Here's a question for all you Sony fans, im looking to buy this as my next camera, its £259 ($418), which is a very good price for a brand new DSLR. Im pretty fixed on buying it but I would like to know the pro's and con's from people who have owned or used this camera.

Also maybe some flashguns and lenses. Thanks
:wink

Can't speak to the camera, as I went from the A100 to the A700. Also can't speak to the price as I don't buy cameras new. But I can make some suggestions on lenses.

    Budget:
28-105 Minolta 3.5-4.5 - really excellent walkaround lens that can be had for <$100

70-210 Minolta f/3.5-4.5 - not as highly regarded as the beercan but lighter and much cheaper (If you want a beercan I'd be happy to sell you mine. Amazing lens but I prefer the more lightweight one)

50mm f/1.7 - this is a must have for low light shooting (including just normal indoor portraits) and can be had for ~$100

    Worth the extra money:

Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 - Great value at just under $400 (new) or $300-350 used. This is really an amazing lens.

Minolta 24-105 f/3.5-4.5 - more expensive than the 28mm version I listed above but wider (obviously) and sharper.

The HVL-F36AM flash is nice but I've moved up to the HVL-F56AM and am in flash heaven. Neither are particularly cheap.
