Hi Dgrinners...we always strive to keep you folks updated early on what is happening at Blurb and today is no exception. We are very excited to announce the arrival our first non-beta application, BookSmart 2.0. The official announcement will not come until tomorrow, but you can get your upgrade now here.

So what's new? Plenty. Starting with our new "Large Square" 12x12 book, available in hardcover with dust jacket or ImageWrap. Plus the introduction of flexible containers to control the size, location, layers and content type of all elements on the page, which are also savable for re-use on other projects. BookSmart 2.0 also features improved image and text handling, including the ability to find and replace text, and faster loading and caching of images. Additional features include 24-bit color support, and improved support for Vista.

So what are you waiting for?

Best,

    Very cool!

Any option coming down the line for a premium thick paper flush mount book?

Not on the current roadmap. We tend to stay away from products that are more "single use" as photo albums and gravitate towards traditional book products that can be used as tools for creative professionals. But I will definitely take your suggestion to the team...and thanks!

Cool, gotcha - and that makes sense. It would REALLY be cool if I could design a certain size (say, 10x10 or 12x12) for a flush mount book for the bride and groom, and then let the family / wedding party have access to cheaper reprints in the same size but in regular hardback/image-wrap.

Nice business idea John and a good reason for us to consider adding additional products like this! I just love the great entrepreneurial ideas that come from photographers :-)
