The Hottest Day

It was the morning of the hottest day
the warm, thick air began to weigh
heavy on God's creatures one and all
and hugging the slight shadows however small
they found a hole to scurry in
before the hottest day would begin

It's a nice compo, but the colors are off, at least on my monitor.
I see the world through a 3:2 rectangle.

Thank you. Might be the Velvia look I was working for along with the sweeping sunrise light. Looks hot, huh? I go by the sky, because the geology is crazy.

I agree...beautiful composition but the colors on the rocks look too warm/bright to me.
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap but memories are priceless.

Beautifully composed. Since the sky is clear and there are no distinct shadows I assume this is pre-sunrise??? That's my impression which then leads me to the conclusion that it is overall just too bright. Looks artificial. Then again I have limited experience with desert lighting conditions ne_nau.gif

Thanks. I'll check it out again in a couple weeks to see how I feel about it. Right now it's good by me. I wanted it to match the verse.

Thank you. This is immediately before the sunrise, like within seconds. It can be very artificial, but the Velvia sw filter I used made it radical. The shot is more about expression rather than realism.
