Hi Y'all,

Some of you may recall that I put togther a photo exhibit last year to raise $ for an environmental scholarship and for the Merritt Island NWR. It was fairly successful but a hell of a lot of work. At its conclusion I said I would not do another one.

Well I was asked to do another exhibit this year but I declined the privilege. They said OK and then got my wife, Linda to agree to put one together. :bash

If you are in the area of Florida's Space Coast on 6/20th drop on by the Lagoon House at 3275 Dixie Hwy (E off of US 1), Palm Bay, FL 32905 from 2-6 PM.
You can check out the 2009 gallery here

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

Maybe you should come out and declare that you will not run for president! Then, you could be the first first-man.:D

Knock 'em dead, Harry! With images like these, I wish I could be there in person.
Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap but memories are priceless.

You would be smelling more than a few politicians in this one.

    Nice!
Could you tell me the story of the Owl and how it came to be? I especially am fond of it - Thanks.

The horned owl capture was fairly easy. It was taken at a raptor rehab center. The bird was on a handler's arm so I was much closer thatn I would ever get in the wild. I used my D3 and 70-200 2.8 VR lens. I did a bit of cropping on the initial capture (the corners can be a bit soft with the 70-200 on a full frame sensor) so that the face filled the frame.

I did no post processing other than some sharpening.

There are around 4-5 images in the gallery from a pair of local photographers. The rest of the images this year are my own captures.

It's a very dramatic shot. Thanks for letting me see it.
    Good luck with the exhib!

Thanks Dan. I had less lead time on this exhibit and didn't have time to ask for donations so we went with all of my own images this year.

If you read the fine print of that marriage license you would have noticed the "endaround for the wife" clasue. eek7.gifheadscratch.gifrolleyes1.gif You know that clause is a one way street and if you try that kind of manuever you'll have he** to pay. deal.gif

Nice set of pics H. Good luck with the exhibit.

That's a reddish egret Densie, They are a great subjet because they are usually very animated.
