The slide shows are great but is it possible to find a way for us to select our own logo to be displayed while the show is loading and not the smugmug logo?

You instructed the slideshow to display the smugmug logo with this slideshow parameter:

splash: 'http://www.smugmug.com/img/ria/ShizamSlides/smugmug_black.png',

You can use one of your own images, or remove the splash parameter from your slideshow code. All of the available slideshow parameters can be seen on this page - http://wiki.smugmug.net/display/SmugMug/Flash+Slideshow.
