My bride finally decided to get into photography and quit running marathons (thank God). So we got her a used Nikon D40 and a new 16-85mm VR lens (which I've wanted for a while now :rolleyes ). I suggested to her that she pick a subject and learn it real well before taking up the next. Since we like to travel and since they sit still, she decided on landscapes.
We were out on Prince William Sound last week and she tried her hand a bit. I gave her some pointers on DOF for the waterfall but told her she couldn't get the shot without a tripod. Then on the other shot I told her there was too much contrast and she'd have to do and HDR in PP.
OK, I'll just shut up from now on like a good husband... :dunno

I hear you on the training. Its a long haul that is probably more taxing on the "Pit Crew" than the "Driver."
