Not so long ago - when I lived in another country named USSR, homeless person was a rarity... Nowadays there is a whole community of such people with their tragedies, diseases, hard drinking, hopelessness, injustice... Summer is not bad time for them.
They are called here in Russia - bomzh (Out of first Russian letters - without definite place of residence).
This one caries all he has with himself. Only three packets...

Surely, yesterday's news were better....

There is a lot of character in this shot. I think most of us tend to dehumanize the homeless when we view them so that we can detach the possibility of it happening to us. In this shot, however, this fellow is doing exactly the sort of thing we would be doing on a warm sunny day. He's not interested in handouts today -- just keeping up on current events.

The "normality" in this shot is very striking. The suit, the carefully removed hat, the inquisitive look on his face and the clean modern environment all lead us to believe that this is and average guy on an average day. Very well done!
