Some images from a weddding assignment
They're not your typical wedding photos - I hope - because I try (as much as clients will let me) to avoid shooting typical wedding photos. I try, instead, to document the wedding day, preparations, etc., as I would any other event. I see each wedding, each day with a family, as a day in which I get to play a cross between Margaret Meade and name-your-photographer.
Anyway - enjoy.

Thanks, Dustin - If left to my own devices, I'd process virtually everything in b&w. Having started shooting Tri-X at about age 12 50 years ago, it's tough living in a colored world. Additionally, I am a firm subscriber to the old saw - "When you shoot people in color, you see their clothes. When you shoot them in black and white, you see their souls." Well, forget the soul part. But I really do believe that shooting people in black and white puts the focus on the subject, rather than on the colors. I view color photography as being more about color than it is about subject. But then that's just my person view.

This is a unique approach to wedding photography, at least in my experience. Very cool.
I moved this thread to the Weddings forum.
