    Nice catch with a great composition. He looks like he could use a meal or two. :D
    Shoot in RAW because memory is cheap but memories are priceless.

    Thanks Dan for the comment. It is the first one I have seen in the wild. I don't know if they are in AZ. or not.

    He walked out of sight and I turned to my son and commented on how lucky we were to get to see him. I looked up and there he was on the ledge right above me looking down at us.

    Yep, that's a nice series. Hope you don't mind, but that is a female Mojave Desert Mountain Goat. Both male and female have horns. The female's horns are always short and not thick. The male if he is over four years of age has a full curl. Mountain sheep are very curious creatures and would only run if you approached them from above them. Their only enemy is the mountain lion and lion always tries to approach goats from above.

    This female is only skinny because of the drought that has been here now for about 9 years. Yes, you were very lucky to see this goat this close in the wild...usually they see you long before you see them. Thanks for sharing!
