So I might not be able to reshoot, so I took the suggestions and played around with conversions to see if any of these are better. I also added a couple. Let me know what everybody thinks.

Title: Remembering The Many (thanks Virginia...really like that title)

great concept and title! My favorite out of what is posted here is this one...I like the minimal trees in the background as they were competing too much. I like the forground headstone as it's perspective is like the viewer is peaking over the top of it and seeing all the other stones for the first time. I like that you can read the names several layers back. Very good composition!thumb.gifthumb.gifthumb.gif

Thank you JAG and Kat. I was kind of partial to that one as well.

Kat, thanks so much for the conversion suggestion! Helped quite a bit! thumb.gif

Only RAW. Sometimes RAW+Fine jpg, but really only use the jpg for preview.

Yep.. same here.. well.. just wanted to point out that you have the same control or more with the color memory slides in Photoshop with the conversion if you convert to grayscale in RAW "within" the RAW editor.. at least in CS3...I am not familiar with the others, or with which photoshop you are using.... so if you do all of your conversion work in the RAW editor it can offer superior results as opposed to later in photoshop... I am begining to do my full conversions all in the RAW editor and it helps..
