OK, I've narrowed it down to four finalists (well, four shots plus their various edits) based on feedback and suggestions. It's a tough choice for me, but here they are. Everyone's input is always welcome.

The grain is intentional on some. If it's too distracting, I'll get rid of it.

    Out of all the posts this round, yours have been the most challenging to pick from......... It is nice you narrowed it down some, but still, there are too many good shots here.

    For some reason I am super favoring the 1-b.... it is shot so much like
    "old fashion film photography that I find it has a very unique impact... I mean all jet picks are super cool these days, but shot like 1-b is a rare look...
    This is how I initially felt about 1-a, but find the crop in it too lose and open... 1-b has such a classic look..

    =============================================

    In my personal favorite order:

    1-b

    4-a >> The dark sky did not end up faring well because it took away the contrast. That is why I chose 4-a.. once you cropped it and worked it up some, I like this version best.. It has the most clarity.

    2-c

    and well... # 3 really jumps up and down saying pick me for the "theme" strength too.

    ==========================================

    That is as narrowed down as I can get it for you right now Silver..
    They are all so nice...

    Hope it helps

    I personally am all over #3 - I love the high contrast and the geometry of the formation. thumb.gif

    If I'm picking just one, I think I would go with 1b. I like the feel of the shot, and like the crop better than 1a. I love the Thunderbird shots, especially #3, but I guess I've shot them so much, I just don't like those jets in B&W. ne_nau.gif

    Wow.. incredible shots - very hard to choose. I like 2, but I think I'd have to go with 3 or 4a. Close call though!

    I think as a whole, just my humble thoughts, these kind of shots would best be done justice in vibrant colour. Something I'd like to see, it's a shame its not an option with this challenge. The planes almost but just dont quite fit in with the WW1 type of look grainy B&W processing?headscratch.gif

    Very impressive though - Great job!

    Thanks again for the input. It seems like everyone likes #3 (shamelessly including myself in that group). Looks like I'll upload that now and only change that if I have a change of heart by Sunday night.
