June 7, 2009 - Air Show at Hill AFB, UT - Lots of pics

I went to the USAF Air Force Week, Air Show, on Saturday. It was a pretty spectacular display with awesome weather conditions. I got off ~400 pictures and went through two batteries in my camera.
You may have noticed some of these in my DSS#27 feedback threads. Well here, some are included in color.
Feel free to C&C, I'm always up for it.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks Ron. I was really happy when I saw how the Mustang shots came out. That has got to be my favorite plane of all time.
I think that's the name of the mountains

Yeah... I noticed that after the first hundred pics, when I had a chance to review. Unfortunately, I was stuck choosing the higher shutter speed to compensate for my hand movement because I don't have image stabilization. I think the second P-51 was a 1/400 sec shot. That's about the best I could do. Nearly every shot at a slower shutter speed was blurred :cry. That will soon change, however, when I upgrade the camera body

ETA: Tom makes a good point on the prop shots - and it does take practice to get it right. Even without IS, panning along with your subject will help those work out better. Oh, and did I mention practice?

Formation flying is always a favorite for me.
Geez they fly awful close at times, I'd be holding my breath watching them.
You've got yourself some truly amazing shots with this lot

:skippy Everyone has the right to be stupid, but some people just abuse the privilege :dgrin
It is an absolutely AMAZING show that the Thunderbirds pull off.
I was very pleased when cycling through the shots during post. Probably my best round to date.
