Watching through the shattered glass
to the broken heart, everyday looked the same
Swollen eyes and trembling lips could not bear to ask
about the letter that never came.
When I first read the Title and looked I saw a letter 'C' formed by the hole in the glass! Only after a second look did I notice the 'Letter Box'!
Woot!

The title has been used famously before, I think... in a painting???
I think the photo is so stark, so physically forceful, that the accompanying verse is inappropriately over-sentimental.
An alternative processing might be to brush back in extra contrast in places, maybe vignette, (maybe even some selective color at very low opacity
EDIT Oh, on second scrutiny I see that you have already done the contrast-vignette thing... yet still full drama isn't quite there...
